Next time you are watching ER or some other medical program impress your mates with your knowledge. You will often hear the term MI mentioned when the medical personnel talk about a person with chest pain. MI is an acronym for Myocardial Infarction which is the medical term for heart attack. “Myo” means muscle, “cardial” refers to the heart, and “Infarction” means the death of tissue due to lack of blood supply in other words, a heart attack results in the death of heart muscle.
