…..Answer: In the Upper Back.

The scapula is more commonly called the shoulder blade. It is a flat, triangular bone found on each side of the upper back.

The scapula connects with the clavicle, or collarbone, and the humerus, or upper arm bone. It also provides attachment points for many muscles that control shoulder and arm movement.

Because the shoulder is highly mobile, injuries may involve the bones, muscles, tendons or ligaments around the joint. Support a painful or injured arm in the most comfortable position and seek medical assessment if a fracture or dislocation is suspected.

Tomorrow – we test your medical vocabulary with the word umbilicus.
