
Answer: Support the infant’s head and keep it lower than the chest.
Lay the baby face-down along your forearm or across your lap, resting their head on your hand. Give up to 5 firm back blows between the shoulder blades.

If the object does not clear, turn the infant onto their back, still supporting the head, neck, and spine. Keep the head slightly downward and deliver up to 5 chest thrusts on the same spot used for CPR.
Each thrust should be quick, controlled, and sharper than a compression. Continue alternating 5 back blows and 5 chest thrusts until the airway clears or help arrives.
