Answer:
Signs and Symptoms:

  • Pain or tenderness in the neck or back
  • Tingling, numbness, or loss of movement in limbs
  • Incontinence
  • Headache or dizziness
  • Possible priapism (erection due to spinal damage)

If you suspect a spinal injury, call 111.
Control any bleeding and open the airway carefully, keeping the head in line with the spine.
Do not move the person unless necessary.
Immobilise the head and restrict movement. Keep them calm and warm.
If unconscious but breathing, place them in the recovery position while maintaining spinal alignment.
