
Examples include:
- Bright red, frothy blood when coughing — may indicate lung involvement
- Vomited blood, which may appear bright red or dark brown (coffee-ground appearance)
- Blood in urine, from the penis or vagina
- Rectal bleeding, which may be bright red or black and tar-like
Heavy internal bleeding is often accompanied by signs of shock, including pale skin, sweating, and weakness.
