with Type 2 diabetes have undertaken with positive results.
The Ministry of Health report, “Type 2 diabetes usually develops in adults, but it is becoming more common in young people. Type 2 diabetes is the only type of diabetes linked to, but not always caused by, obesity. Māori, Pacific and South Asian people are more likely to have type 2 diabetes and develop complications of the condition”.
If you are concerned for yourself or a family member about the possibility of having Diabetes contact your GP. If you wish to know more, Diabetes New Zealand has an excellent website with information about Diabetes, living with it, managing the condition and support networks in the Community.
