…..on the ground. If a limb is bruised and there is no external bleeding present, apply a cold compress (remember, do not allow ice to come directly into contact with the skin).
Where the injury is severe, seed medical advice. If an ambulance has been called, while waiting, manage any other injuries present, loosen any tight clothing, manage any bystanders and offer plenty of reassurance to the person. Avoid giving anything to eat, drink or smoke. If thirsty, moisten the person’s lips.
