Where a female is large-breasted, it is acceptable to place the left pad to the left side to avoid breast tissue.
Before applying AED pads, remove any medication patches. Wipe the site to assist the adhesion of the AED pad. Do not place the pads over the top of internal devices. It is recommended that a defibrillator pad is set a minimum of 8 centimetres away from any device.
