…..this resource. If a child is bleeding, giving them the task of holding a dressing in place this may help to focus their mind away from the pain they maybe experiencing.
REMEMBER if the bleeding is severe, it is life-threatening. Controlling this type of bleeding will take priority over the management of the airway and breathing. Lie the person down, then apply direct pressure to the bleeding source and send someone to call 111.
