Pale or blueness of the skin
They may say they have central chest pain (often described as squeezing, gripping or heavy)
Pain that may radiate down left or both arms, the jaw, throat or back
Sweaty
Anxious, scared or in denial
Nausea
Shortness of breath
How to treat:
Call 111
Reassure the person
Assist with the person’s medication if available
Place the person in a comfortable sitting position
Consider giving the person an aspirin to chew (check first that they are NOT allergic to aspirin)
Stay with the person and reassure them
Be prepared for breathing to stop or the person to become unconscious
Chest pain may not always be present
