Sit the person upright and reassure.
Treat with 1 puff of blue reliever or equivalent inhaler, to 6 breaths until 6 puffs have been given. Medication given through a spacer is recommended.
Call 111 if the asthma attack is severe or the person is frightened.
Continue to monitor and if no improvement after 6 minutes repeat as above until ambulance arrives.
