Also evident during such an event are changes to the person’s mood, with switches from normal behaviour occurring. This may include aggression, confusion and an inability to focus or understand simple instructions. The person may become un-coordinated and mistakenly appear drunk. The perception is often reinforced by accompanying slurred speech. As the blood glucose level continues to fall, the person may become unresponsive and have a seizure.
Please note young children, in particular, may display a change in skin colour, appearing pale.
