Then cool them aggressively.
Best option for severe heat illness or heatstroke:
- Cold-water immersion from the neck down, if practical and safe
If immersion is not available:
- Wet the skin with cool or cold water
- Fan continuously
- Apply wrapped ice packs to groin, armpits, cheeks, palms and soles
Only give fluids if the person is fully conscious and able to swallow.
