The intergluteal cleft, more commonly called the gluteal cleft, is the natural groove separating the left and right buttocks.
It begins below the sacrum and extends downwards towards the perineal region. The term is used by healthcare professionals when describing anatomy, assessing injuries or documenting the exact location of a wound or skin condition.
